Job Description

Job Summary:

Lead management reporting and other key areas within the battery channel to exceed sales and profit goals. Oversee and manage battery core internal processes that results in core return to vendors. Also, oversee and manage battery scrap sales to customers and smelters at an acceptable profit margin.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support Battery Sales and Operations with reporting functions.
  • Provide back-up support for Battery Operations (invoicing, special program billings, etc).
  • Provide reports to management upon request and per existing report schedule.
  • Provide support for Battery Marketer programs and promotions.
  • Monitor core balances at FMP and 3rd Party locations to create battery core loads.
  • Responsible for scheduling and tracking of freight carriers to pick up battery core loads.
  • Adjust location scrap inventory as scrap loads are sold.
  • Monitor core returns to suppliers to meet minimum return expectations.
  • Create invoice tickets for scrap batteries.
  • Track deep cycle sales and cores returned by customers and by Regions.
  • Maintain master core sheet that tracks customer scrap buys/sells and related profit.
  • Communicate scrap pricing with customers and maintain adequate price spread.
  • Proactively seek ways to increase profitability of core & scrap business.
  • Maintain weekly scrap price matrix.
  • Assist with Battery Truck route maintenance.
  • Assist with Battery Truck reloads, both automatic reloads and additional reloads.
  • Assist with Battery Truck invoicing.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Must be detail oriented and work well with numbers.
  • Must be able to convert units to pounds and calculate internal core value.
  • Ability to operate personal computer and software including Microsoft Office and Internet.
  • Ability to relate in a courteous manner with suppliers, customers, and all levels of staff at FMP.
  • Ability to negotiate with customers and carriers.

Minimum : 

  • AA minimum or BS/BA degree preferred
  • Two years’ experience working in an office or corporate environment
