Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, detail oriented, thorough and fun Real Estate Staff Accountant to join our real estate department part time 20-30 hours per week. (hours and days are flexible)

This position will perform a variety of accounting and general clerical functions with efficiency and accuracy, including: triple net reconciliations, entering accounting information into the general ledger, maintaining landlord and payables files. This position will communicate with landlords, property managers, and vendors to complete projects and solve problems.


This is a multi-faceted role with a variety of administrative tasks that provides support to the Real Estate department:

  • Perform a variety of duties related to property taxes and real property records management, including: indexing, verifying, scanning, quality control, and inventory control
  • Month end accruals, reconciliations and Journal entries, various monthly / quarterly reporting
  • Fixed Asset Management
  • Calculates daily net cash position; prepare daily cash flow forecast
  • Maintain multiple Excel spreadsheets recording and reconciling daily cash balances; investigate and propose possible resolution for any discrepancies
  • Business License Renewals
  • Rent data entry support
  • Personal Property Tax filing support
  • Communicate with landlords, property managers and vendors.
  • Perform special projects and data analysis as needed

Job Requirements


  • Bachelors in Finance or Accounting or commensurate work experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, advanced Excel and Word skills - ability to perform advanced functions, manipulate large amounts of data with ease, and format a report professionally for use by upper management
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to conduct research, analyze and solve problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate good detail orientation, logical thinking and organization and prioritization skills
  • Solid understanding of accounting processes and procedures
  • Proficiency with accounting software systems
  • Yardi general ledger software experience a plus.
